Feeling happy about economic recovery?

Hi friends, here is a good news for all of us. According to Federal Reserve Chairman Mr. Ben Bernanke economic turbulence has already calmed down and healthy economic activities are stepping up but in a slow phase. Now the time has come to look back at our past blunders which have pushed the whole world to the brink of economic disaster. I hope the end of recession may bring big smile on the innocent faces of our bothers and sisters all over the world (like in the pencil sketch drawn by my son). Though I am bad at economics, I have listed down many points (I feel they are blunders) which are responsible for this bad economic phase and I firmly believe if we start repeating those economic blunders, it may lead to more severe world economic crisis from where it may be difficult for us to come back. As I have mentioned in my earlier post “remembering my mom and her proverbs” the mighty America and its determined people can contribute a lot to the stability of the world economy. A change in life style may be the need of the hour not only for a healthier economy but for the survival of our planet. I would like to discuss those blunders and connect them to the environment degradation which is taking place in a more accelerated phase than ever. Many a times a feel bad economy is good for our future generation and environment and I have dealt with this topic in my post “Bad economy- good for future generation?” I will conclude here and try to bring out my genuine feelings in my own way in the coming days.

Don't quit till you reach the goal

Hi friends, I would like to share this very old poem which I have received from my favorite person. I don’t know who wrote this poem, but I am really grateful to the writer for writing such an inspiring poem.

When things go wrong as they sometimes will

When the Road you are trudging seems all up hill;

When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile when you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest, if you must — but don’t quit.

Life is queer with twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won had he stuck out,

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,

You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,

It seems to a faint and faltering man,

Often the struggler has given up,

Lord Ganesha... I felt your presence!

Hi friends, I would like to share my following experience with you. Auspicious Ganesha Chaturthi, the birthday of Lord Ganesha is celebrated all over the world in different ways and in our family too at my native place Kasaragod we worship our family deity through all religious rituals. Our family priest who is conversant with all rituals, by chanting Sanskrit verses invokes Lord’s divine energy in to the beautiful clay idol decorated with various flowers and costly ornaments. Since many years I am observing a drastic change in the eyes of the idol as soon as the priest completes the chanting of those mantras or Sanskrit verses which are meant for Pranapratishhtha or giving life to the idol. With the completion of mantras, the eyes of the idol become lively. In the night, the priest ends the rituals by chanting “visargena mantra” praying lord Ganesha to come out from the idol and return to his world. With the completion of these religious chants the liveliness in the eyes of idol disappears immediately. I am closely watching this miracle every year and with every passing year my belief on the existence of God has become more intact. I have captured this photo on 23.08.2009.
