Remembering iron lady of India……

Hi friends, Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi, considered as the iron lady of India was the most popular, controversial and powerful lady politician of 20th century. The sad part of Indira Gandhi’s political career was her brutal assassination by her own security personnel on this day exactly 25 years back. She has seen many ups and downs during her long political career and her controversial political decisions like declaration of emergency has over shadowed her good aspects. She was a fighter in nature and because of this nature she could rule India for many years by side lining male heavy weights of her political party. I believe she was responsible for the growth of Technology in India and I take this opportunity to remember her for putting a strong foundation for modern India. Though I was never in agreement with her political views, I became her fan when she attacked Pakistan to liberate Bangladesh from its clutches. I salute Indira for giving fitting reply to our enemies as and when they provoked peace loving country like India.

Feelings of reaching another mile stone.......

Hi friends, much water has flown down the River Tungabhadra( one of the major rivers of my beloved country) since I have started my blog and published the first blog post on Sunday, July 27, 2008 with the active support of my mentor Malthy Badri. Today, when I saw Google page rank of my site jumped from 1 to 3, I became very happy and I have taken a resolution to devote more time for my blog and post regularly. As my blog is not having any affiliate programs or adsense, a better page rank does not make any difference to me or my site, even then I feel proud to have page rank 3. When my site got page rank-1, my mentors Badri encouraged me by congratulating and I hope to receive a mail this time also. I believe, getting page rank 3 is definitely a mile stone for a blogger and it needs a celebration for crossing it easily.

Misuse of credit card- an economic blunder?

Hi friends, continuing my earlier discussion about the economic blunders which made millions of our fellow human beings income less and home less, to day I would like to high light the role of credit cards in spoiling the game. I feel, massive misuse of credit card for purchasing products and services well beyond our capacity has contributed its share in weakening the economy especially in countries like America where credit cards were issued on easy terms. Still I am not convinced about the wisdom of bankers who have issued as many as ten credit cards to a single person without verifying his credit score or financial back ground thoroughly. As long as things were moving smoothly, multi credit card holders were balancing the show of credit card bill payment but they were unaware of the fact that they were digging their own graveyard. In spite of the repeated warning from many quarters, we failed to anticipate the bleak economic future and continued our unhealthy economic activities and the resultant world economic crisis was inevitable. The impact of the economic turbulence was less in countries like India, where credit cards were issued strictly on repaying capacity of the individuals.

Yet another tribute to that divine soul

Hi friends, today being the birth day of father of our Nation Mahatma Gandhi it is a national holiday for us in India. I have posted a thought provoking tribute to that Great Soul A tribute on the same day last year. His belief on non violence was so intact that he was not tolerating any type of violence in front of him. As a testimony to his practical approach to non violence, I would like to mention an incident which took place in his life. During the middle of freedom struggle against the then mighty British Empire, he has to face a challenging situation on personal front. His wife Kasturi Bai was advised to take beef soup by her doctor as a part of treatment for a particular disease but Mahatma was not ready to compromise on his values. As an obedient life partner she refused to take beef soup to up hold his values and got cured from her illness through herbal medicines. This incident shows his will power in tackling any situation without compromising his believed values. We have seen politicians who preach values to their followers but when their personal interest are at stake, they forget all values and principles and take a root which benefits them personally. Very few souls come to this world who sacrifices their entire life to safeguard the values which they believe and our beloved Gandhiji is one among them.
